What is The Quiet Pond?
The Quiet Pond (‘the Pond’) is a fantasy-themed book blog with a simple narrative, in which you are the main character. The blog features an ongoing story about your frequent visits to the Pond and your magical pond friends who live there.
The Quiet Pond’s aim is to review and promote diverse books and uplift marginalised writers. It is, on occasion, an art blog as well. The Quiet Pond‘s mission is to critically and honestly review books, recommend the good ones, and be a space of joy, warmth, and friendship. Interested in visiting the Pond and working with us? The Bloggers Behind The Quiet Pond
CW:
Hello friends! My name is CW and I am the owner and editor of The Quiet Pond. My pronouns are she/her. I enjoy reading a wide range of books – mostly young adult and middle grade fiction! – and some of my favourite books are Jade City by Fonda Lee, Sal and Gabi Break the Universe by Carlos Hernandez, The Surprising Power of a Good Dumpling by Wai Chim, Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Other Words for Home by Jasmine Warga, and The Weight of the Stars by K. Ancrum.
The Quiet Pond is a product of my love for role-playing games (like Final Fantasy and Warcraft) and soft and light fantasy (like Undertale [Pacifist] and Little Witch Academia). The Quiet Pond is a space that accepts and celebrates all identities, endeavours to inspire the magic of kindness, and hopes to show that there is goodness and light in the world even in the darkest of places and times.
I hope that you will leave The Quiet Pond feeling like your day is a little brighter, and I hope that you will continue believing in yourself, believing in others, and know that uplifting each other is a powerful kind of magic.

Joce:
Hi friends, I’m Joce! I got my start in the online book community on Booktube where I have a channel called squibblesreads. My reading taste has grown and evolved but I love books written for any age, as long as they are representative of everyone in the world around us. I am a strong advocate for representation of authors and characters who identify with marginalized groups.
In late 2018, my beautiful baby girl was born, and she is the brightest light of my life! When I’m not wrangling her, my hobbies include calligraphy, running, weightlifting, and makeup. Some of my favorite activities include going to Disneyland, destroying the patriarchy, and taking a nap.

Skye:
Hello there, friend! My name is Skye! I’m a college student, graphic designer, and all-around nerd extraordinaire based in Malaysia. I love warm colours, lush fantasy universes, as well as making art for diverse stories! My secret dream is to make a living out of designing books in the future. When I’m not stressing out over college assignments or working on commissions, you can probably find me knee-deep in my hoard of unread books playing Nintendo games or knocking out stories of my own.
As an avid reader, I advocate for stories that elevate marginalized communities. I’m particularly fond of high concept speculative fiction that explores East/Southeast Asian culture, colonialism, and queer identity. Some of my favorite books are These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong and Middlegame by Seanan McGuire. Above all, I want to help readers find books that encourage them to be unapologetically themselves.
P/S: Don’t worry about the rumbling from the back of the shelf! That’s just my TBR pile and not a ghost. Probably.
